I was recently notified of winning the “Best of Painesville 2018 for Photographer”. I was very honored and humbled to hear of this recent award. This wasn’t something I applied or submitted for but simply received the news yesterday of my award. Each year, in and around the Painesville area, the Painesville Award Program chooses only the best local businesses. The Painesville zip code encompasses a few different zipcodes and was very honored to help serve these communities. Newborn Lifestyle Photography | Cuyahoga County, Ohio | Cleveland, Ohio
It was a couple weeks before Christmas when I heard the news that one of my January Newborn clients was close to delivering. I was surprised and excited to hear the news. This beautiful family was scheduled in mid January for a lifestyle session in their home and their little boy couldn’t wait to get here.
This sweet little guy was born 3 weeks early and was such a perfect little baby. He was small little guy but such a pleasure to photograph. He slept most of the time while doing some of the family posing and we quickly moved to the newborn shots. I had so much fun visiting this family in their home. I were able to capture many fun lifestyle photos for them as well. Traveling to clients home for the Newborn/Lifestyle photos have become a favorite of mine. It really is a special memory for the family the moments captured in their home. They are really some timeless keepsakes to treasure.

You may have heard of Lifestyle photography and wondered what does that exactly mean? Lifestyle is essentially the candid moments created in an artistic manner. I am happy to announce I offer 2 different types of Newborn Photography Sessions. The first is a 1 -1 1/2 hour session in my home studio. At the studio I provide multiple headbands, wraps and props available to photograph the baby. Next we can take photos with mom, dad and siblings if needed with the options of backdrops and a beautiful white couch. The client also receives all the digital images taken from the session. On average around 40-50 images with copyright release.
The second option is my Newborn plus lifestyle session in the comforts of your own home. The benefit of this is I bring everything to you! I typically take all of the newborn photos with my wonderful props and wraps but then focus on unique candid photos throughout your home.
Lifestyle photography is the goal of capturing real-life events in more of an artistic manner. This could be the tickling of baby toes while up in the nursery. The mom sweetly rocking the baby in her rocking chair. These artistic photos not only capture more of the everyday but also help create a story. It is essentially telling the story of you and your new family days after leaving the hospital.

Simply Beautiful Newborn Session | Cleveland, Ohio | Mentor, Ohio
One of my favorites backdrops or props with my Newborns is the Simply White backdrop. It is so pure, classy and elegant that puts all the focus on your newborn. My goal when photographing a newborn in this pose is to allow the baby to look the most natural and pure as they can. I’m not trying to do some crazy “yoga” poses with your precious little newborn but rather that him/her decide where and how to lay. Then I place a white sheet around the baby to accent them.

A special Newborn Photography Session | Lake County, Ohio | Mentor, Ohio
This little Newborn was a fun newborn session. I have known the family for years and was happy to hear the new when they were expecting baby #4! This cute little girl joins big brother, big sister and big sister at home. She was welcomed with many arms and has been a blessing to the family. I wish nothing but the best as we watch this little girl grow through the years:)
It is best to book your Newborn Session a few months prior to delivery. The best time period to photography is anywhere from day 5-day 12 of life.

Fall Family Mini Sessions at Squires Castle | Willoughby Hills, Ohio
It was such a beautiful fall day at Squires Castle to have the fall mini sessions. The family mini sessions are great for couples, kids, families and high school seniors looking for a quick photo sessions. My mini sessions are 20 minutes and the clients have the option of picking 5 digital image package or 10 digital image package which also comes with singed copyright release on digital images.

Fall Family Mini Photography Sessions | Cleveland, Ohio
Its my favorite time of year! The leaves are turning, the air is crisp and everyone is thinking about updating those family photos! Fall is a wonderful time to update the pictures and create some timeless looking photos for your home. Mini sessions are only offered a few times throughout the year and only a few days. What exactly is a Mini session anyway?
Mini Sessions are a small quick 20 minute session. The client usually has the options of picking a 5 or 10 digital image package. I know so many people love the mini session idea because they feel often times their kids wont last the full hour during a regular family session.
I do have mixed feelings about mini sessions. I love them because I know this is what my clients want and wish I offered them more often. I do and always will continue to offer them. The downside for me, is I often times feel rushed and I don’t like to be a “clock watcher” when shooting family photos. Unfortunately, I need to in order to keep the families on schedule for the day. I really enjoy my regular family sessions probably the best and I continue to book those throughout the fall and winter as well. This is a full hour up to 90 minutes shooting pictures, talking with the family and capturing those genuine family moments on film.
The mini sessions I am offering this year is 3 days of Fall Mini Sessions. 3 days of Winter Mini sessions at a local tree farm. In the spring I may offer an Easter Mini Session and usually a beach mini session during the summer. Keep in mind you do not need to wait to to book for your family session with a mini. I book and accept clients for regular family sessions throughout the year.

Cleveland, Ohio Family Photographer | Squires Castle | Fall Photography
We couldn’t have asked for a better day to have this beautiful family’s fall session at Squires Castle located outside of Cleveland, Ohio. The weather was warm, the light was soft and we were able to shoot inside and outside of the castle. This place serves as the perfect backdrop for family photography sessions. Its nestled in the thick woods of the Cleveland Metroparks. It not only has a beautiful Castle that is rich in history but many walking and bridle trials in the woods. Squires Castle is located in the North Chagrin Reservation of the Cleveland Metroparks in Willoughby Hills, Ohio. It was built in the 1890s by Feargus B. Squire for use as the gatekeeper's house for his future country estate, which was never built. Squire, an executive with the Standard Oil Company, bought the surrounding 525 acres (212 ha) of land but never completed the project. Squire sold the property in 1922 and the Cleveland Metroparks acquired it in 1925.

Cleveland Newborn Photographer | Simply Beautiful Newborn Session
This sweet little angel came into the studio and was so fun and easy to work with from the very beginning. Its often hard in Newborn Photography. I plan my day and hope for the best transitions from pose to pose but its always the baby who will set the tone of the day. Luckily this little lady was nice to me and had no problem falling back to sleep.
What can you expect from a Newborn Session with me? It is very laid back and often times I like to begin on the newborn beanbag and capture those “white” images that many parents have been falling in love with lately. These simple yet beautiful images capture the timeless and beauty of the newborn without flashy colors or props.
Those two things just aren’t my style. I prefer the more the classic look so parents can look back at these photos some day and say “what were we thinking!” I want parents to look back and say what a beautiful baby our child was.
After the simple white photos I usually allow the parents to choose what wraps, furs or baskets they would prefer for their newborn. If the baby is fussy this is a great time to capture mom and baby or baby with the whole family.

Sunflower Mini Photography Sessions | Avon, Ohio | Maria's Field of Hope
Maria’s field of Hope is the Prayers from Maria Foundation first planted the Sunflower field in 2014 to gracefully draw attention to the lack of funding for childhood cancer. The field was inspired by the memory and spirit of Maria McNamara, planted as a way to love and honor the courageous children who are battling cancer and those we have lost. The field is located in Avon, Ohio and is really a beautiful and heartbreaking atmosphere at the same time. The field itself is very beautiful with its acreage of sunflowers spreading for miles. However at the same time, each field is lined with yellow signs and pictures of precious children that have either lost there battle with cancer or currently in the middle of battling cancer.
I started offering mini photography session at Maria’s field for families to celebrate and take in the beauty of the field. I also am happy to donate 50% of my earning to Maria’s foundation in order to help find a cure for Childhood cancer. 2018 might have marked that last time the sunflower field will take place in Avon, Ohio.
I am hopefully Maria’s foundation will find another plot of land and continue this amazing foundation they have started.
Cleveland Child Photographer | First Birthday Photography
We had the perfect weather and perfect setting to celebrate and little boy’s first birthday! The family really wanted to create fall theme first birthday. We are very lucky in Lake County, Ohio to have many beautiful parks that create beautiful backdrops.
This park had a red barn, open meadow and pond which was perfect to get us all in the fall mood! This park is located in Concord Township, Ohio not far from outside of Mentor, Ohio.
My first birthday milestone sessions can be customized outdoor shoots or the traditional indoor shoots. My indoor first birthday shoots are usually with backdrops with a cake smash option. The outdoor sessions can be customized or even themed for the your little boy or girl.

A very special newborn session
I have no doubt some people come into our lives for a special purpose or meaning. They may come in to our lives to teach us a lesson whether it be good or sometimes bad. I have no doubt 7 years ago my beautiful friend Alyssa came into our lives with nothing but the BEST. It was 7 years ago we made the move from Erie, PA to Northeast Ohio where we knew NO ONE, not one familiar face. Not to mention I had 3 boys age 4 years and under with my youngest being 3 months old. To say that was the hardest point in my life was an understatement. To pack up, leave all of your familiar surroundings, friends and family you have known for decades-hard, very hard. It wasn't all roses and rainbows once we were settled and moved in either. I still didn't have those familiar streets to drive on or friendly faces to chat with. I missed running into my old neighbors at the grocery store. Its these little things many people don't even realize are very special to us, until they are gone.
Moving is not for the faint of heart, but I then I was so happy to have Alyssa walk into our life. I was looking for a babysitter to help out so Jason and I could have a date night here and there. We so needed some occasional nights out. Even though I never wanted to leave my kids, I knew it was best for us to get a break. I didn't have Grandma down the street to watch my boys or my newborn. I found Alyssa and after talking with her we clicked and for the first time I felt like I could leave my kids with her while Jason and I went our for dinner.
The years past and Alyssa would continue to watch our kids so we could have our "date nights" together. Not only did she watch my kids grow, I watch her grow as well. From the single 20 something year old girl working on her masters to finding her future husband. I watched as she found her now husband Jason to the announcement she was expecting her very own baby! What?! The very own young lady that watched my kids would know be having one of her own. Life has a funny thing of coming full circle and it sure did. She then asked me to photograph her very own precious baby boy! To say I was honored is an understatement and couldn't have been more thrilled to document this special time for them.
I wish nothing but the best for the A. Family! I know you both are terrific parents and baby Jase is so lucky to have you as his parents! I look forward to now watching him grow into a special little boy:)

First Birthday with the perfect little Lady!
First Birthday Milestone Sessions have become such a favorite of mine to photograph! Besides being able to play with an adorable little baby its the creative side that appeals to me. The First Birthday Sessions can really be customized to your own style or theme. I would even be happy to create a complete new set with an extra charge. One of my newest additions was the boho chic flower tent for a little girl. I love this theme! I would love to create a cute boy teepee set next. The first birthday is also a great chance to do a smash cake. I love these because its all about the baby having fun with cake!

An new precious boy now makes a family of 3
Its amazing how much newborn photography has really been invited and become and new icon in the world of photography. My oldest was born in 2006 so even just 12 years ago Newborn Photography and the classic newborn poses really didn't exist much. There were a few places that would photograph but nothing like today. I look back at my sons pictures and wish I knew then what I know now about newborn photography. Or even motherhood I'm sure that statement could be applied for:)
I am so grateful for all of the new parents that have turned to me and allowed me to photography their precious little ones. This is such an important and exciting time in a families life. They are technically only a newborn for about 1 month! The best time I recommend for parents to have the newborn pictures taken is Day 4- Day 12 of life.
I greatly enjoyed my time with the J. Family who recently became a family of 3. This sweet little guy had to be one of my most laid back babies that came to visit me at my home-studio. The benefits of my Newborn Mini Sessions is the convenience of it only lasting for 1 hour. I understand and get it not everyone is up to the 2 hour family newborn session but definitely want to capture those newborn moments. My Newborn Mini Sessions are 1 hour and take place at my small in home studio. At these sessions we focus on the newborn with my simply beautiful poses and a few prop poses depending on the the what the client would prefer. My style is more relaxed and less fussy. I find more beautiful in the baby on bright white sheets and simple swaddles covering them. However if you were hoping for your little one to look like a turtle with a shell and hat as well, I would be more than happy to complete that look for you;)

MILESTONE SESSIONS
A milestone session is a personalized session for your little one! If your child is having a birthday, starting to sit up, turning ONE, or you just want to showcase his or her fun personality at ANY age, you have the opportunity of capturing these quickly passing moments!
Milestone sessions are a great way to freeze those moments in time for your child celebrating a special birthday or event. I have had many clients use milestone sessions for first birthday which are typically done with smash cake and lots of glitter and balloons. That is not the only time that is perfect for milestones. They can be at any age! I often times like to customize my milestone sessions and had in something special for the child or event they are celebrating. Often times though parents are just looking for some updated beautiful pictures of their child.
We spent a beautiful evening at a local park taking this milestone session. This is one of my favorite parks given the evening light with the pond, bridge and open grass area.

Beautiful in home Lifestyle Newborn Session
A beautiful Newborn in home Lifestyle Session took place in Chardon, Ohio. Often times I get asked what exactly is a lifestyle session? Lifestyle photography is my favorite type of photos because its more about the candid unique connection captured between families. That is what a photo session should be. Natural, not rushed focusing on the connection.
At-home lifestyle newborn sessions are about the connection and love that family members already have for this new life. I'll capture special moments with each family member and the baby as well as the family all together. It was honor to photograph the M. Family in their home. In-studio Newborn Session
This little guy was dream to photograph in my home studio! I was able to keep him sleeping from the car seat and quickly grab some of my favorite poses. My simply beautiful sessions are a fun combination of newborn poses that are more "un posed" and lifestyle. I am not a believer in making your baby fit in a box and look like a frog. But more of the tender yawn, flaky skin and little rolls under the chin.
